Watch: India wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia effected a clever run-out in the second ODI against Sri Lanka, dismissing Anushka Sanjeewani with a no-look backward throw after she had casually meandered out of the crease.

The third ball of the 23rd over by Deepti Sharma was a full delivery, which the batter played softly in front of her. The ball rolled back a few inches to Sanjeewani’s left, who was casually ambling out of her crease after the shot. Despite seeing Bhatia pick up the ball, the Sri Lankan showed no rush to get  back to the crease.

Bhatia was alert to the situation, picking up the ball and throwing it back to the stumps. The run-out reminded viewers of MS Dhoni, who too had effected run-outs in a similar fashion in his career.

Sanjeewani was out for a 44-ball 25 as Sri Lanka were all out for 173. India chased down the target with 10 wickets to spare in 25.4 overs, and have won the three-match series 2-0.
