Rain has interrupted the Bengaluru Test between India and New Zealand several times. Here is the IND vs NZ weather forecast for day five of the match.
Rain washed out the entire first day at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. When play began on day two, Matt Henry (5-15) and Will O’Rourke (4-22) bowled out India for 46, the hosts’ lowest total on home soil, before finishing the day on 180-3.
India reduced New Zealand to 233-7 on day three before Rachin Ravindra (134) and Tim Southee (65) added 137 for the eighth wicket. New Zealand eventually finished on 402, with a lead of 356.
Despite losing three wickets, India finished the day on 231-3, still 125 runs behind New Zealand. On the fourth morning, Sarfaraz Khan (150, his maiden Test hundred) and Rishabh Pant (99) added 177 before India collapsed again, from 408-3 to 462. Henry (3-102) and O’Rourke (3-92) were the wreckers-in-chief yet again.
All that had happened amidst rain, and play was called off early due to bad light and then a downpour, with New Zealand on 0-0 in pursuit of 107. New Zealand are favourites to win the Test at this point, but India are still in it as well. And then, there is the weather.
