In the second Test against New Zealand in Pune, India will be chasing over 300 to win. Read here for the highest totals successfully chased down in India.
At the close of play on day one of the match (October 24), India had bowled New Zealand out for 259 thanks in large part to the efforts of Washington Sundar, who recorded career-best figures of 7-59. The home side then got to 16-1 with the bat before stumps, trailing by 243 runs.
On day two, however, they were blown away. India lost six wickets in the morning session alone, going into lunch at 107-7. They were eventually bundled out for 156, as left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner took 7-53.
At the end of day two, New Zealand had made it to 198-5 in their second innings, with captain Tom Latham scoring 86. That took their total lead to 301 runs, meaning India will have an uphill task on their hands in the fourth innings.
