Full list: India's streak of 18 Test series wins

That's it, then. India's record home Test series winning streak that lasted 12 years - 4,331 days to be precise - came to an end with their loss to New Zealand in Pune.

For 12 years, India maintained a proud record at home, winning 18 Test series on the trot, comfortably the longest any team has enjoyed. It finally came to an end on October 25, 2024, with New Zealand going 2-0 up in the three-match series after wins in Bengaluru and Pune.

The 113-run win in Pune gave New Zealand their first-ever series win in India, becoming the first team since England in 2012 to beat India in a Test series at home. It is only the fourth time India have lost lost two Tests in a home series since 1983.

It's also the first time since 1983 that India have lost three or more Tests at home in a calendar year, having already been defeated once by England in Hyderabad this year.
