In the third ODI against Ireland, at Rajkot, India Women amassed 435-5 – their highest total in ODIs across gender.
India Women amassed 435-5 at Rajkot after Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opted to bat. Mandhana herself led the way, smashing the fastest hundred in the format for India Women, equalling the national record for most sixes in a women’s ODI, and becoming the first Asian to hit 10 hundreds.
India were 233 in the 27th over when Mandana was the first to depart, for on an 80-ball 135. Her opening partner Pratika Rawal went on to make 154 in 129 balls, the third-highest ODI innings for India Women after Deepti Sharma’s 188 and Harmanpreet Kaur’s iconic 171 not out.
Richa Ghosh joined in as well, with a 42-ball 59. India lost wickets as the batters went for the big hits at the death, but that did not deter them from piling 435-5, their highest ODI total across gender. Despite crossing 400 seven times, India Men had never gone past 418-5.
