every record broken by India Women during 435-5

India racked up a massive 435-5 against Ireland in the third ODI in Rajkot on Wednesday, their highest total in the format. Here are all the records they broke along the way.

Smriti Mandhana took only 70 balls to reach her hundred, making it the fastest ODI hundred for India Women by the proverbial mile. Harmanpreet Kaur (87 balls against South Africa at Bengaluru in 2024) held the previous record.

Mandhana now has 10 hundreds in the format, the joint third-most in women’s ODIs and the most by an Asian. Only Meg Lanning (15) and Suzie Bates (13) have more, while Tammy Beaumont also has 10.

Mandhana’s seven sixes took her career tally to 52. Both counts are now the joint-most for India in women’s ODIs, along with Kaur.

Mandhana eventually finished on 135, which took her tally to 4,209 runs, the 11th-most in women’s ODIs. Among Indians, only Mithali Raj (7,805) has more.

Mandhana added 233 for the opening wicket with Pratika Rawal, making it the third-biggest partnership for any wicket for India in the format. Only Punam Raut and Deepti Sharma (320 at Potchefstroom in 2017) and Raj and Reshma Gandhi (unbroken 258 at Milton Keynes in 1999) – both for the first wicket against Ireland – had added more.

Rawal made 154, the third-highest individual ODI score for India Women, after Sharma’s 188 in the abovementioned match and Kaur’s 171 against Australia at Bristol in 2017.

Mandhana could not become the top-scorer of the innings. Her 135 is now the third-biggest innings that was not the highest score, after Sarah Taylor’s 147 at Bristol in 2017 (Beaumont made 148) and Jan Brittin’s 138 against Pakistan in 1997 (Barbara Daniels 142 not out).

After six innings, Rawal now has 444 runs, the most in women’s ODIs. She went past Charlotte Edwards’s record of 434. Across genders, only Janneman Malan (483) has more, while Inzamam-ul-Haq (406) is the only other batter with more than 400 runs after six ODI innings.

India finished with 435-5, the fourth-highest total in women’s ODIs and the highest for any side other than New Zealand. This was also India’s highest ODI total across genders, overhauling India Men’s 418-5 against West Indies at Indore in 2011.

In the second innings, India went on to bowl Ireland out for 131, securing a 304-run win – their biggest in women's ODI cricket, and India's second-biggest in ODI cricket across genders.
