Arshdeep Singh bowls during India practice for the second 2025 T20I against England in Chennai

India will take on England in the second of five T20Is today (January 25), with the hosts looking to go 2-0 up in the series. Here's all you need to know about the game.

India won the opening match of the series at Eden Gardens by seven wickets with 43 balls remaining. Varun Chakravarthy spun his way through England's middle order to see them bowled out for 132, before Abhishek Sharma powered them to victory with plenty of time to spare.

This series is England's first under Brendon McCullum as their new white-ball head coach, and they also have a new vice-captain in Harry Brook. Brook made headlines yesterday when he blamed smog in Kolkata as part of the reason behind England's dramatic collapse.

The second India vs England T20 2025 will get underway at 7pm local time at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.

England announced a squad of 12 players for the match yesterday (January 24), with a late call to be taken over Jacob Bethell's fitness to play the game. The England batting all-rounder is reportedly suffering from illness, and did not train with the side ahead of the game. Jamie Smith has replaced him in the XI.

Brydon Carse has also come in for Gus Atkinson for this fixture. Atkinson had a difficult game in Kolkata, conceding 38 runs from just two overs.

India vs England, 2nd T20I: Who will win?

India's win was so comprehensive in the first T20I it's hard to see a different result in Chennai. England struggled against India's spin trio and had no answer for their powerful top-order. Since winning the T20 World Cup last year, India's new-look side have been on an incredible streak of form, while England struggled against both Australia and the West Indies.

England's young stars like Brook and Bethell add an extra element to the series, while having both Mark Wood and Jofra Archer in their XI makes for an exciting pace attack. Nevertheless, India are firm favourites to win the second T20I in Chennai.
