India defeated England 3-0 in the recently-concluded ODI series between the two sides. Here's what their clean-sweep has done to the ICC Men's ODI team rankings.
In the dead rubber in Ahmedabad, the hosts won by 142 runs to clinch the ODI series 3-0; they won the first and the second one by four wickets. It was Shubman Gill, who shone on his 50th appearance by scoring 112, helping India to 356.
The visitors were off to a great start, reaching 126-2 after 18 overs. But once again, England’s brittle middle order was exposed, slipping to 175-8 midway through the 31st over before eventually folding for 214.
England’s torrid run since the 2023 ODI World Cup continues, with them succumbing to their 16th defeat in 23 matches. They finished the tour of India with seven losses out of eight games – including the 4-1 defeat in the T20I tri-series.
All smiles for India – they win the third ODI against England by 142 runs, and the series 3-0.
