India vs England: Mohammed Shami returns?

According to reports, Mohammed Shami, who last played for India in November 2023, makes his return into the India T20I side. A report in the Indian Expressalso suggests that Rishabh Pant could miss out, with Dhruv Jurel being picked.

India will play three ODIs and five T20Is against England across January and February. The ODI series in particular will be of high interest as it will serve as the precursor to the Champions Trophy for India. Here's the full schedule for England's tour of India.

India's last ODI assignment was against Sri Lanka in August last year, where they lost 0-2 in a three-match series. Their last T20 outing, on the other hand, came against South Africa in November last year, where they won the four match series 3-1.

England last visited India for a white-ball series in March 2021 when they played three ODIs and five T20Is. India won the T20Is 3-2 and the ODIs 2-1 then.
