India beat Bangladesh in the Kanpur Test to consolidate their position at the top of the WTC points table

India beat Bangladesh comfortably in Kanpur to register a 2-0 series victory. Here are the updated World Test Championship standings after India's whitewash of Bangladesh.

Despite more than two-and-a-half days getting washed out, India powered through to ensure a result in the Kanpur Test, beating Bangladesh by nine wickets. The match was setup by the Indian batters on day four after Bangladesh were bowled out for 233 in the first innings.

Rohit Sharma hit his first two balls for sixes, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the joint third-quickest Test fifty by an Indian, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul chipped in as well, as India broke a plethora of records en route to 285-9 declared. It didn't take them long to finish off the Bangladesh batting in the second innings, bowling them out for 146, before they chased the 95-run target down, with seven wickets to spare, in 17.2 overs on day five to clinch the series.

Updated WTC points table: India secure their place at the top

This was India's eighth victory in 11 games in this cycle of the World Test Championship. With this win, they have further consolidated their strong-hold at the top of the table, moving up to a points percentage of 74.24%.

Bangladesh on the other hand, have moved two spots down to seventh, dropping from a PCT of 39.29% to 34.37%.
