Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Siraj took two stunning catches on day four of the second Test between India and Bangladesh at Kanpur

Watch: Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Siraj took spectacular one-handed overhead stunners in quick succession on day four of the second Test between India and Bangladesh at Kanpur.

After rain played spoilsport in the first three days, with only 35 overs possible, the two teams came out to the field on a bright sunny morning on day four. Mid-way through the first session, Rohit and Siraj pulled off two brilliant one-handed over-head catches to give India an early advantage.

The first came in the 50th over of Bangladesh's innings. Litton Das, batting then on 13 off 29 balls, charged down the wicket against Siraj, trying to loft the ball over cover, where Rohit was positioned. The Indian captain jumped on his feet, stretching out his right hand. The next moment, he plucked the ball out of thin air, running to his teammates in joy.

Siraj was also in the thick of the action in the other piece of brilliance, but this time, he was the one to pull off a screamer. Off the last ball of the 56th over, freshly-arrived Shakib Al Hasan put on his dancing shoes, trying to loft R Ashwin down the ground. The ball soared high in the air and looked to be falling out of the reach of Siraj, who was guarding the mid-off region.

Siraj kept on backpedalling, trying to position himself for the catch. Just when it seemed like it would land beyond his head, Siraj threw himself in the air before falling on the ground to complete a sensational overhead catch with one hand. Shakib was dismissed for a 17-ball nine.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh are at 230-8, with Mominul Haque batting on 106 along with Hasan Mahmud.
