Shubman Gill was head teasing Mohammed Siraj over his old social media video during day three of the Chennai Test between India and Bangladesh

Watch: Shubman Gill was seen teasing Mohammed Siraj over his old social media video during day three of the Chennai Test between India and Bangladesh.

During the 22nd over of the fourth innings, Gill was brought in at silly point for the new batter, Mominul Haque, with R Ashwin bowling. While walking towards his fielding position, Gill poked fun at Siraj by hilariously shouting: “MohammedSirajOfficail official id hai baaki sab fake hai, (MohammadSirajOfficial is my official id, rest all are fake)."

The jibe was a nod to a video Siraj posted on his Instagram account in 2016 where he was seen pointing out how the said account was the original one, and there were many fake IDs as well.

In the match, India beat Bangladesh by 280 runs to go 1-0 up in the series. As a result, they solidified their position at the top of the 2023-25 World Test Championship points table. Having rescued the hosts from a spot of bother with a 133-ball 113 in the first innings, Ashwin weaved his magic again in the fourth, this time with his wily off-breaks, taking 6-88. This was his 37th five-wicket haul, the joint second-most in the history of the format.
