Rishabh Pant has made a comeback to India's Test squad for the Bangladesh seres

India have announced their squad for the first of the two Test matches against Bangladesh, to be played from September 19-23 in Chennai.

In a 17-member squad led by Rohit Sharma, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee hasn't thrown up many surprises. Most of the members pick themselves, with the only real eye-catching call being the selection of Uttar Pradesh left-arm seamer Yash Dayal. Rishabh Pant has also made a return to the Test side after a long time, having been out of action for over a year due to a near-fatal accident.

Dayal is a 26-year-old fast bowler who made his first-class debut in 2018, and has now received his maiden international call-up on the back of a solid first-class record and impressive outings in the IPL for Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the last couple of seasons. He has picked 76 wickets in 44 innings in first-class cricket at an average of 28.89.

The first of the two Test matches will be played at the MA Chidamabaram Stadium in Chennai, starting on September 19, followed by the second match in Kanpur, starting September 27.
