Bangladesh have included four fast bowlers in their 16-man squad for the Test series in India, to be played at Chennai and Kanpur from September 19.
Bangladesh have included four fast bowlers in their 16-member squad for the upcoming India tour. Shoriful Islam, who missed the second Test of their recent historic series win in Pakistan, is not one of them. However, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Nahid Rana – heroes of that triumph – all feature, along with Khaled Ahmed.
Bangladesh will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto. The senior men, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim, will be part of the squad, along with former captain Mominul Haque and senior left-arm spinner Taijul Islam. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Litton Das, the heroes of their triumph in Pakistan, both feature in the squad.

Bangladesh have toured India twice before, for one Test match in Hyderabad in 2016/17, and two in 2019/20, in Indore and Kolkata. They have lost all three. At home, they have played India 10 times and lost in eight of these Test matches, while rain called the shots in the other two.
History favours India, but history favoured Pakistan as well, for they had never lost a Test to Bangladesh anywhere in the world. Bangladesh changed that by winning 2-0 in Pakistan.
