Rohit Sharma will lead the 16-member India squad. The series also marks the much-awaited return of Rishabh Pant in the format after his horrific car accident. Coincidentally, Pant’s last Test came against Bangladesh in December 2022.
Virat Kohli, who missed the England series earlier this year for personal reasons, has also made a comeback. The hosts have made an eye-catching call by handing left-arm pacer Yash Dayal his maiden international call-up.
Bangladesh team news
Bangladesh have named a 16-member group as well, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto. They enter the series on the back of a 2-0 clean sweep against Pakistan. The outfit has largely remained the same from their historic series win, with uncapped batter Jaker Ali Anik replacing an injured Shoriful Islam being the only change.
