The India-Bangladesh Kanpur Test is likely to be affected by rain: here are the latest weather updates from the Green Park Stadium, set to host the match beginning September 27.

India's retreating monsoon has brought about spells of shower across the country, and Kanpur is likely to be one of the regions affected towards the end of the week.

On Wednesday, a day ahead of the scheduled start, there were spells of heavy rain in the afternoon, with chance of precipitation as high as 98 per cent leading up to evening.

Kanpur rains: What is the prediction looking like on Day 1?

According to BBC Weather, the forecast for the morning of day one is not promising. Chances of rain are as high as 76% at 7:30am, two hours before the start of play. At 9:30am, the scheduled start time, those go up as high as 80%, before coming down to 40-50% around lunchtime.

The forecast is slightly more promising from Weather.com. Chances of precipitation in Kanpur are around 52% in the morning, before the start of play. This goes up to 70-75% around 1:30pm and hovers around 50-60% through the afternoon. There may be enough time to get some overs in, but it could be an interrupted day.

AccuWeather does not paint a hopeful picture either. Chances of rain before play are low, but during the first session go up as high as 64%. In the afternoon session, they go down a bit to roughly 50%. Once again, this says it could be a stop-start day one in Kanpur.
