Day two of the India v Bangladesh Test in Kanpur was wiped out by rain

The second day of the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur was called off without a ball bowled. Here's what we can expect from the weather on day three.

Day one of the match was also heavily affected by rain, with only 35 overs able to be completed across the day, which finished with Bangladesh 107-3. The back-end of India's monsoon season has seen rain fall across the country, with Kanpur heavily affected over the end of this week.

However, the forecast looks more promising for day three, and some play should be able to take place at least. While showers may affect the morning session, it looks set to be mostly clear in the afternoon and evening.

IND v BAN 2nd Test: What is the weather forecast for day three?

Play is scheduled to begin at 9:30 local time in Kanpur at Green Park on Sunday, September 29. At that time, BBC Weather predicts that there is a 52 percent chance of rain, with thunderstorms predicted for earlier in the morning. While it says those should have cleared up by the start of play, it predicts that rain will continue to fall with up to a 62 percent chance, until 1:30pm local time. That means rain could wipe-out the morning session, but there should be play in the afternoon once the playing surface has drained.

Accuweather also predicts rain during the morning, with its probably of rain set at 59 percent before lunch. However, it also predicts a better afternoon, with the possibility of rain down to 25 percent.

Although still predicting some play will be likely, Weather.com is less optimistic. It predicts heavy thunderstorms overnight and in the morning, with a 53 percent chance of precipitation until 12:30pm local time. While it's rain probability dips down to around 20 percent for the afternoon, it goes back up to 47 percent at 3:30pm.

Taking all three forecasts into consideration, rain will likely heavily affect the morning session, with play possible in the afternoon and evening with the possibility of being interrupted by showers.
