Dube was one of three seam-bowling all-rounders named in the India squad, alongside Hardik Pandya and Nitish Kumar Reddy. With Pandya one of the first-choice players, Dube's injury could open a chance for Reddy to make his India debut.

When did Tilak last play for India?

Tilak, the 21-year-old middle-order batter, has impressed in the IPL for Mumbai Indians, which paved a way for his India call-up in 2023. He last played in the T20I series against Afghanistan in January, after which a finger injury kept him out of action.

According to the statement, Tilak is expected to join the team on Sunday (October 5) in Gwalior, the day of the first T20I.

Tilak impressed during the recent Duleep Trophy, scoring a century for India A against India D, finishing on an unbeaten 111 against an attack that had Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana, both part of the T20I squad.
