Jasprit Bumrah is back at the top of the ICC Test bowling rankings.
Two Indian maestros at the top
Bumrah has overtaken R Ashwin at the top spot after his six wickets in the Kanpur Test against Bangladesh. This is the second time Bumrah has reached the No.1 spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings.
However, he is being closely trailed by Ashwin, the Player of the Series from the India-Bangladesh Tests, who took five wickets as well in the second Test and is only one point behind his rating of 870 points.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka spinners move up as well
Bangladesh suffered a 0-2 defeat against India, but the performance of their all-rounders - Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan - with the ball in the Kanpur Test has helped them gain a few spots in the bowling rankings.
Miraz took six wickets across the two innings, while Shakib took four, all of them coming in the first. This has pushed Miraz up by four spots to 18th and Shakib up by five places to 28th.
Sri Lanka also completed a 2-0 sweep of New Zealand earlier this week, with left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya narrowly missing out on equalling the world record for the fastest man to reach 100 Test wickets. He took nine wickets in the second Test at Galle, which has seen him move up one spot to joint-seventh, including achieving a career-best rating.
ODI bowling rankings update
Adil Rashid has moved up four ranks to 24th while Jofra Archer has jumped up 16 spots to 40th in the ODI bowling rankings following the conclusion of England's five-match ODI series against Australia.
