India clean-swept the two-match Test series against Bangladesh following a batting assault in the rain-hit Kanpur Test, with R Ashwin being adjudged the Player of the Series for his all-round performance. Here’s the complete list of cricketers with the most Player of the Series awards in Tests.

With 11 wickets at an average of 19.27, Ashwin finished the series as the joint-leading wicket-taker alongside Jasprit Bumrah. In the first Test in Chennai, Ashwin came in with India reeling at 144-6, stitching a record 195-run stand for the seventh wicket with Ravindra Jadeja. Ashwin went on to score a 133-ball 113. His counterattacking knock was studded with 11 fours and two sixes. In the fourth innings, he took a match-winning 6-88, his 37th five-wicket haul in the format, the joint-most alongside Shane Warne. Ashwin is now only behind Muttiah Muralidaran on the list.

This was Ashwin's 11th Player of the Series award in 43 Tests. In the process, he levelled with Muralidaran, who took 18 more series to achieve the landmark. South Africa's Jaques Kallis sits second, with 10 awards, while the third place is jointly owned by Imran Khan, Richard Hadlee and Warne, all of whom have won eight awards to their tally.

Notably, Ashwin is the only Indian in the top ten, with the next best, Virender Sehwag, sitting at 13 with five awards.
