India v Bangladesh 1st Test: Who will win?

The visitors for this series, Bangladesh, are coming off the back of a historic 2-0 series win over Pakistan in Pakistan. India, however, are likely to pose a far greater challenge. India have not lost a home Test series since 2012, and in their most recent series beat England 4-1. Bangladesh have a new, rising crop of fast bowlers and some quality spinners and will be looking to make life difficult for the hosts. 

India are massive favourites for this one, with odds of 1.12 compared to 13.50 for Bangladesh, according to Stake.

The top batter as per the odds is likely to be Yashasvi Jaiswal or Virat Kohli. Stake offers odds of 4.55 on both players. India captain Rohit Sharma is third-best for the hosts at 4.75, with Rishabh Pant priced at 6.25 and Shubman Gill at 6.50.

As far as Bangladesh are concerned, Shakib Al Hasan is the safest bet as the side's best batter, at 4.70. Mushfiqur Rahim is next at 4.90, but for the more daring out there, Liton Das (6.25) could be a high-reward option.

According to Stake, India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is the top bet, at odds of 3.10. Shakib Al Hasan is second at 3.40, with Jasprit Bumrah and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (3.50 each) come in at third.

If he makes the playing XI, Indian pacer Akash Deep could prove a high-risk, high-reward option at odds of 5.40. He is coming off the back of a nine-wicket match in the Duleep Trophy.
