Watch: Glenn Phillips smashed a mammoth six during the 3rd T20I between India and New Zealand. The ball landed on the roof over the deep mid wicket fence at the McLean Park Stadium in Napier.

New Zealand had gotten off to a shaky start, losing Finn Allen and Mark Chapman inside the powerplay. Phillips, alongside Devon Conway, helped rebuilt the innings. In the 13th over, Phillips decided to attack Yuzvendra Chahal and did so to perfection. The final ball of the over was bowled on a length outside off stump. The Kiwi batter got down on one knee early and clattered it into the roof over the deep mid wicket fence. Harsha Bhogle, who was on commentary, said, “Glenn Phillips is always thinking big and this time, he connects big.”

Phillips’ innings played a major role in New Zealand getting to 160. Had they not lost a string of wickets towards the end, they could have even posted a total in excess of 180. As for Phillips, this 33-ball 54 only illustrated that he is one of the cleanest ball-strikers in the shortest format and is a vital component in New Zealand’s middle order.
