New Zealand is the No.1 ranked 50-over side in the world and have 11 wins from 15 matches in the Super League points table. Despite losing the T20I series 1-0, mainly due to the brilliance of Suryakumar Yadav, the hosts can take comfort from the last time India toured the country for a white ball series in 2020. During that tour New Zealand bounced back from a 5-0 loss in the T20I series to win the ODI series 3-0.
As hosts of next year’s World Cup, India have automatically qualified and are missing the majority of what you would imagine is their first choice XI from their squad in New Zealand. Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are all either being rested from the series or are injured, with Shikhar Dhawan standing in as captain.
The first ODI will be held at the Eden Park, Auckland on November 25. Subsequent matches will be held at Seddon Park, Hamilton, and Hagley Oval, Christchurch on November 27 and 30. Full schedule can be checked here.
