Vikram, the lander of India’s ongoing lunar exploration mission, successfully descended on the moon on Wednesday evening Indian Standard Time, leading to widespread celebrations around the country.
All eyes were peeled on the TV screens across the nation, where images from the ISRO mission centre tracked and displayed Chandrayaan-3’s descent. The module successfully landed on 18.04 IST on Wednesday.
A video shared on social media captured the Indian contingent following the live telecast of the landing, cheering and celebrating as visuals confirmed the touchdown.
Captain Jasprit Bumrah was beaming with happiness alongside his teammates in their dugout at the edge of the boundary ropes at the Malahide Cricket Club.

BCCI’s social media account also shared an image of the team huddled up inside the dugout, with the caption: “History created, mission successful”.

The decider will be played on Wednesday evening. India already lead the three-match series 2-0.
