Rohit Sharma caused amazement and nausea in equal measure during the second England-India ODI, appearing to put his elbow back into its place after fielding the ball.

The incident caused Sky commentator Nasser Hussain to turn green, according to Michael Atherton.

Liam Livingstone struck Ravindra Jadeja firmly on the bounce to Rohit at cover, with the India captain making the stop. However, he looked in pain instantly, dropping the ball and clutching his left elbow. He appeared to tug on the limb, keeping it straight before bending it, with the on-air commentators immediately speculating in disbelief that Rohit had relocated his forearm.

“Ouch,” said Atherton. “What’s he done there? It looks like he just put his joint out there and put it back very quickly.”

“Eoin [Morgan] is at the back of the box. He says he does that a lot,” added Hussain. “He dislocates his shoulder and then he just pops it back in. Is it elbow? Maybe elbow. Just pops it back in.”

“Nasser’s just turned green,” Atherton replied, after a gasp from his co-commentator upon seeing the replay.

Rohit continued to participate with what seemed to be only mild discomfort, but soon left the field before later returning. The opener has struggled with injury in the past few years of his international career, with his elbow, at times, proving problematic.
