India will travel to Bangladesh for a three ODI series, followed by two Test matches — here’s the full schedule for BAN vs IND 2022 ODIs.
The India team will travel to their neighbouring country Bangladesh for a short tour, beginning with three ODIs as the focus shifts towards the 2023 50-over World Cup. The series will start on December 4, with three ODIs being played over the span of six days. The second ODI will be played on December 7, with the third game held three days later.
The first two ODIs will be played at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka before the proceedings resume at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, also the venue for the first Test that will begin on December 14.
Skipper Rohit Sharma, who was rested for the New Zealand ODIs, will make a comeback, along with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. The trio last played for India during the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal defeat against England, having been rested for the tour of New Zealand that followed.
Rahul Tripathi and Kuldeep Sen are newcomers in the squad, although Tripathi, still uncapped, earned his maiden India call-up in June. While Tripathi has been impressive in the IPL over the last couple of years, Kuldeep has impressed with his ability to swing the ball both ways.
The hosts, on the other hand, will be led by Tamim Iqbal, and will also see the return of Shakib Al Hasan after the latter opted out of the ODI series against Zimbabwe in August due to personal reasons. Yasir Ali also made a return to the 16-member squad while Taijul Islam, Mosaddek Hossain and Shoriful Islam missed out.
