Scotland and Bangladesh both won in the 2025 Women's World Cup Qualifier on Sunday (April 13). Here are the updated rankings after today's matches.
Scotland boost World Cup hopes with commanding win over Thailand
Scotland’s campaign received a huge boost after winning a historic thriller against West Indies in their first match. There was a blip in their second match, with Pakistan beating them by six wickets. However, they were quick to turn things around with a 58-run win over Thailand.
Batting first, Scotland were bowled out for 206 in 41 overs, with captain Kathryn Bryce (60) and Megan McCall (57) putting up a fight. Defending the modest total, Bryce, Rachel Slater, and Katherine Fraser put up their hands with three wickets each, while Hannah Rainey also picked up one as Thailand fell short by 58 runs.
Bangladesh's rearguard action foils Ireland's bid for history
Defending 235-8, Ireland seemed poised for their first win over Bangladesh in 12 years and six attempts. After reducing them to 2-2, Ireland picked up half of their side for 94 runs as captain Nigar Sultana departed for 51. No.6 Ritu Moni then put up a resistance, scoring a career-best unbeaten 67 off 61.
With Bangladesh still needing 50 when the eighth wicket fell, Moni and Nahida Akter (18 not out off 17) staged a record ninth-wicket chase partnership, clinching victory with eight balls and two wickets to spare.
