The World Cup for junior sides will feature 16 teams, who will be divided into groups of four. The tournament will take place from January 14 to February 5, 2022, in the West Indies. New Zealand are not a part of the World Cup due to quarantine restrictions.
India are the most successful side in the U19 World Cup history with four wins to their name. They last won the tournament in 2018, while the last edition of the World Cup was won by Bangladesh. Over the years a number of future international stars have featured in the tournament, including Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Rashid Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Graeme Smith, Kane Williamson, Tim Southee and Kagiso Rabada.

A number of young exciting prospects will feature in the U19 World Cup. India will be led by Yash Dhull, Pakistan by Qasim Akram, Tom Prest leads England, while Cooper Connolly is at the helm of Australia.
