The Super Eight stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup is all set to get underway on Wednesday, June 19. One day prior, the ICC announced the list of match officials who would be overseeing the proceedings in each game.
In a media release, the tournament's organising body stated that the two on-field umpires for USA's first-ever second round match at a T20 World Cup 2024 would be Chris Gaffaney and Richard Kettleborough. Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, the first Bangladeshi umpire in tournament history, will be in the middle for England vs South Africa on June 21, and act as the TV umpire for England vs West Indies on June 19.
Among the officials named for the Super Eights, four are not part of the ICC's Elite Panel of Umpires: South Africa's Allahudien Paleker, England's Alex Wharf, New Zealand's Chris Brown and Zimbabwe's Langton Rusere.
