Pakistan and Ireland will meet for their final outing at the 2024 T20 World Cup in Lauderhill, Florida today (June 16) - here is what the weather forecast for the venue is like, including detailed rain prediction.
PAK vs IRE: Weather forecast
All three games so far in Lauderhill – Nepal vs Sri Lanka, USA vs Ireland and India vs Canada – have been washed out without a ball being bowled. The weather in the area is expected to be better for the Pakistan vs Ireland clash, however.
BBC Weather predicts "sunny intervals and a gentle breeze" for June 16 in Lauderhill. They predict a 10 per cent chance of precipitation at 9 am local time, but no rain after that.
The Weather Channel predicts only around three per cent chance of rain during the scheduled start of play which will increase to a maximum of 11 per cent by around 2 pm local time.
According to Accuweather, the weather is going to be "humid with periods of sun" during the day. There's a six percent chance of thunderstorms, and a 25 per cent chance of rain. The match is scheduled to start at 10:30 am local time. During those hours, AccuWeather predicts a 20 per cent chance of rain that decreases as the game will go on.
What happens if the PAK vs IRE game is washed out?
With both teams already out of the reckoning for Super Eights spots, a washout will not have much impact on the World Cup. Both teams will get a point each, with Ireland finishing without a single victory.
Following Scotland's defeat against Australia, Ireland are likely to finish inside the top 12 of ICC's T20I team rankings by the end of this World Cup, which will secure them a spot at the 2026 T20 World Cup, irrespective of the result of their last group game against Pakistan.
