Watch: Marcus Stoinis gave a bizarre send-off to Ramhmanullah Gurbaz after dismissing him during Australia’s Super Eights fixture against Afghanistan today (June 22) in St Vincent.
A stare-off between Stoinis and Gurbaz
The 16th over of Afghanistan's innings had plenty of drama. It began with a stare-off between Stoinis and Gurbaz after the latter played a dot off the second ball. Gurbaz responded with a six over cow corner: he made a bit of room and played across the line.

However, Stoinis had the last laugh off the fifth ball. He pitched a slower ball on length, angling it into Gurbaz, who came down the track trying to hit over legside. The shot was mistimed as David Warner, at deep-square leg ran in taking a brilliant catch. The all-rounder gave the departing batter a send-off and roared in celebration.
After being asked to bat first, an opening partnership between Gurbaz (60 off 49) and Ibrahim Zadran (51 off 48) took Afghanistan to 118 in 15.5 overs. The duo became the second opening pair after Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to register three partnerships over 100 runs in the T20 World Cup.
Australia clawed back into the game amid plenty of fielding mishaps, denying Afghanistan a late charge. Afghanistan’s innings ended on 148-6 on a slowish Arnos Vale wicket.
