Ruben Trumpelmann celebrates after dismissing Jos Buttler durring England's 2024 T20 World Cup fixture against Namibia

Watch: Left-arm seamer Ruben Trumpelmann gave Namibia an early breakthrough by dismissing England captain Jos Buttler for a duck with a wicked inducker during the T20 World Cup fixture between the sides today (June 15).

A prolonged rain delay curtailed the match to 11 overs a side. England were asked to bat with their Super Eights spot on the line; failing to win here would eliminate them in the group stage.

England found scoring tough early on, with a hint of dampness in the pitch. Trumpelmann made full use of the helpful conditions, bowling a full-length nip-backer that jagged back sharply after pitching on the middle stump. Buttler tried a heave over long-on, but the ball ricocheted off his thigh pad to uproot his off stump. The England captain faced four deliveries but couldn't open his account.

Phil Salt, batting on 11 off seven, soon followed his opening partner as he snared David Wiese off the first ball of the third over to wicketkeeper Zane Green.
