Watch: A pitch invader interrupted the T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up fixture between India and Bangladesh on June 1 before being tackled to the ground by two police officers.
The pitch invader broke through the boundary security and stepped onto the field in an attempt to hug Rohit Sharma. The incident happened while India were fielding in the second innings. The alerted police personnel were quick to react to the security breach, with one of them tackling the offender down to the ground. Another cop came in sliding, grabbing him hard to handcuff him.
Rohit seemed to gesture for the police to go on easy on him, also appearing to call for India's security manager to diffuse the situation. The pitch invader was escorted out of the ground.
