New crowd footage of Suryakumar Yadav's stunning boundary catch against South Africa has emerged, removing any doubts about whether the catch was fair and legitimate.

In the days since India beat South Africa by seven runs in the T20 World Cup final in Barbados, a slew of videos of Yadav's catch have emerged, many of them casting doubts on third-umpire Richard Kettleborough's decision and alleging that Yadav's foot was actually in contact with the boundary rope when he caught the ball on the first occasion.

The catch was monumental in India bringing the T20 World Cup back for the first time since the inaugural edition in 2007. Had the ball gone for six, South Africa would have needed a further 10 runs from five balls, with the belligerent David Miller on strike. However, after Yadav took the catch, India were able to breathe easy, and Pandya closed out the innings, bowling to Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, and Anrich Nortje.

New slow-motion smartphone video footage of the dismissal, filmed by a spectator at the stadium and published to social media, however, shows blades of grass between Yadav's shoes and the boundary rope as the India batter took the catch, putting to bed any doubts about the legitimacy of the dismissal, or whether Kettleborough made his decision too hastily.
