Mohammed Siraj hits Mohammed Rizwan with a full-blooded return throw in the T20 World Cup 2024 fixture between India and Pakistan

Watch: Mohammed Siraj hit Mohammad Rizwan on his elbow with a fiery return throw during the T20 World Cup 2024 Group A fixture between India and Pakistan on Sunday (June 9).

Asked to bat first, India lost both their openers cheaply but recovered well to be on 89-3 in 11.1 overs. Despite the recovery, India’s batting line-up cascaded thereafter, losing their last seven wickets for just 30 runs. A collective bowling effort from Pakistan bowled out India for 119 in 19 overs.

Defending the paltry target, Arshdeep Singh took the new ball along with Siraj. With Pakistan at 15-0, Siraj bowled the last ball of the second over on a length at the stumps, and Rizwan drove it back to the bowler.

Siraj collected it and hurled a full-blooded return throw at Rizwan’s elbow, flooring him. Rizwan didn’t look too pleased and ran for a single as the ball went to the fine leg region after ricocheting off his body. The pacer was seen apologising to the batter before both hugged it out.
