Moeen Ali played an unconventional reverse sweep off the back of his bat against left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie during the Super Eights stage clash between England and West Indies today (June 19). Watch the shot here.

Coming in at three with England at 67-1 while chasing 180, Moeen brought up his first four off the third ball of the ninth over, courtesy of a full-blooded sweep against Gudakesh Motie. After two balls, he hit another four but this time off an unconventional reverse sweep.

Motie, bowling from over the wicket, darted in flatter and on a length outside off stump. The ball spun a bit, and Moeen improvised. Without changing the grip, he reverse-swept Motie off the back of his bat. The ball beat the short third man, racing to the boundary for a four.

Moeen couldn't cash in on the start and fell for 10-ball 13 off the first ball of the 11th over against Andre Russell. England lost their second wicket for 83 runs, with 98 still to get off 59 deliveries. They eventually won by eight wickets.
