8.15pm IST: The bus continues to move through the sea of fans towards the Wankhede Stadium, with players atop the vehicle waving the trophy in celebration.

7.30pm IST: After considerable delay, the victory parade has begun along the Marine Drive.

Update 5:15 pm: The Indian team has reached Mumbai and the victory parade is about to start soon. The gates of the Wankhede Stadium have been shut as the stadium has been filled to capacity by fans.

The Indian team arrived in New Delhi today (July 4) after a 15-hour flight from Barbados, where they were stuck due to Hurricane Beryl for five days after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup final.

A host of events have been lined up for the victorious team. They have already met the Prime Minister in New Delhi and are now set to travel to Mumbai where they will hold an open-bus victory parade on a two-kilometre stretch on the Marine Drive.

That will be followed by a felicitation ceremony inside the Wankhede Stadium, gates 2, 3, and 4 of which will be open for fans.

When will India's victory parade start?

The Indian team is supposed to reach Mumbai at 4 pm IST. Rohit Sharma put out an open invite for people through a social media post yesterday (July 3), stating that the road show will start at 5 pm IST.

India's open-bus road show in Mumbai will be broadcast live on the Star Sports network, specifically on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 3, and Star Sports 1 Hindi.

The victory parade along the Marine Drive will also be telecast on the Jio networks too, starting with Sports18 channel from 4:30 pm IST.
