Watch: Jofra Archer bowled Travis Head with a cutter, helping to put the skids on Australia after they had raced away in the opening overs of their T20 World Cup clash.
With one ball left in the fifth over, Australia had blitzed their way to 70-0. After a quiet first over from Moeen Ali, England handed the second over to fellow off-spinner Will Jacks, and he was pumped for three sixes.
Archer conceded eight runs in the following over, but Mark Wood got the treatment, David Warner smashing him for three sixes in his first four balls. Moeen was brought back but was also attacked, though he struck with his final ball, Warner bowled by one that skidded on.
Archer was then brought back too, and began with three slower balls, the third of which was cut for four by Head. Still Archer persisted, and it paid off, with Head missing and the stumps rattled. Archer then upped the pace to new batter Glenn Maxwell, hitting close to 150kph twice in succession to close out the over with two dots.
Australia ended the powerplay on 74-2, with England going on to keep the total to 201-7.
Archer has bowled well since returning from his latest injury layoff and ended with figures of 1-28.
The game is crucial for England especially, with a washout against Scotland leaving them in a tricky position in the group.
