Watch: Former South African seamer Dale Steyn received bowling tips from oblivious T20 World Cup 2024 staff members in the USA.
Steyn, who is in America as part of a star-studded commentary team for the T20 World Cup, encountered staff members of the tournament who were unaware of his greatness.
In a viral video, one of the staff, oblivious to Steyn's stature, was seen instructing the legendary fast bowler not to bend his elbow extensively while bowling. Additionally, he advised him to ensure that the ball bounced after pitching. Steyn, being a sport, seemed to be listening to the instructions keenly and didn’t reveal his identity.
Steyn called time on his international career in 2021. He was an integral part of South Africa’s dominant away Test record, including successive series wins in Australia.
With 439 scalps from 93 matches, Steyn is South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in the format. He also represented them in 125 ODIs and 47 T20Is, picking up 196 and 64 wickets, respectively.
