Watch: Chris Jordan claimed an emotional hat-trick in Barbados, England’s first in men's T20Is, as USA collapsed dramatically.

The tournament co-hosts lost five wickets in six balls to set the defending champions 116 to win in their Super Eights clash.

After USA got off to a decent start, England had done well to peg them back, largely through leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who claimed 2-13. Still, with 13 balls to go the Associate side were 115-5, and perhaps eyeing up pushing towards 140. Instead, they wouldn’t add another run as Jordan had his say.

First in the field he caught Harmeet Singh off Sam Curran, and then bowling the 19th over he had Corey Anderson caught at long-on, followed up with a dot ball, and then targetted the stumps to devastating effect. He struck the top of Ali Khan’s off stump, then pinned Nosthush Kenjige lbw, and then uprooted Saurabh Netravalkar’s middle stump to confirm his hat-trick.

Jordan was born and raised in Barbados, and the achievement was a proud one for him for that reason. The quick finish was also valuable for England, who needed to chase the target quickly to boost their net run rate and guarantee a semi-final spot and, if possible, lock up top spot in the group.

There has been a glut of hat-tricks in recent days, with Pat Cummins taking three in three in consecutive appearances.
