The historic win for USA sparked several reactions in the cricketing community, praising the co-hosts for defeating a team 12 spots higher than them in the current ICC T20I rankings.

Through the game, the frustration was evident among the Pakistan players, highlighted by captain Babar Azam's angry gestures at bowlers and fielders towards the end of USA's chase.

Earlier in the game, it was fellow batter Azam Khan who was left seemingly angry at a member of the crowd following his dismissal.

Azam came into this match on a run of poor form, and things did not get any better for him, as he was trapped LBW by left-arm spinner Nosthush Kenjige for a golden duck.

On his way back to the dressing room, TV cameras captured Azam angrily staring down a member of the Dallas crowd, for reasons still unknown.

Put in to bat, they lost Mohammad Rizwan early, as Steven Taylor took a blinder at first slip off the bowling of Saurabh Netravalkar. The Americans went on to remove Usman Khan and Fakhar Zaman in quick succession to leave Pakistan at 30-3 in the Powerplay.

Thereafter, Shadab Khan’s quickfire 40 provided some impetus to the innings before a couple of solid hits towards the end helped them reach 159-7. Babar Azam top-scored for Pakistan with a sedate 44.

In reply, USA looked on course to complete the chase comfortably thanks to a 68-run second wicket stand between Andries Gous and captain Monank Patel. After they both departed though, the scoring slowed down and Pakistan dragged the game back enough to eventually force a Super Over.

Mohammad Amir ended up conceding seven wides as USA scored 18 in their six deliveries. Pakistan then managed just 13, handing the co-hosts their second victory in two matches.
