After over two weeks of exhilarating cricket in the 2024 T20 World Cup, the top eight sides for the next round have been decided.
The teams have carried their seedings from the group stage and have been placed into two groups. Co-hosts USA, the only Associate Nation to reach this level, are placed in Group Two alongside England, West Indies and South Africa. Here is how the groups are divided:
Group 1: India, Australia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh
Group 2: USA, England, West Indies, South Africa

USA’s advance to the second round has been one of the tournament's highlights. Placed in Group A, they began with a win against Canada in a reprise of the oldest cricket rivalry in 1844. Aaron Jones was the star of the show in the curtain-raiser, smashing a record 10 sixes. Their most memorable defeat came against Pakistan in a Super Over, courtesy of captain Monank Patel’s 38-ball 50. The two wins and a washout against Ireland meant they were ahead of Pakistan in the points tally to go through the next stage along with India.
The Super Eights qualification also granted them a direct entry to the 2026 edition.
