The winners of the T20 World Cup will walk away with a prize money of USD 2.45 million, the highest in the history of the tournament — here’s the entire breakdown of how much each team will pocket in the upcoming event.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) have allocated a record sum of USD 11.25 million for the prize money for this year’s men’s T20 World Cup 2024, with the winners walking away with USD 2.45 million, and the losing finalists earning a prize of USD 1.28 million.

The tournament which is co-hosted by USA for the first time along with the West Indies will also award losing semi-finalists USD 787,500 each. 55 matches will be played from June 1 to 29, across nine venues in the West Indies and the USA, making it the biggest-ever T20 World Cup.

Prize money available for every participant

The four teams unable to qualify for the top four from the Super 8 stage will earn USD 382,500 each, while the ninth, 10th and 12th-ranked teams will pocket USD 247,500 each. The sides ending in 13th to 20th place will be rewarded with USD 225,000.

On top of that, every team is guaranteed a fixed reward of USD 31,154 for every match they win except the semis and the final,

The USA won the curtain-raiser by beating Canada comprehensively, courtesy of vice-captain Aaron Jones' blazing 94 not out. Jones’ 40-ball stay included 10 sixes, the second-highest in the event alongside Chris Gayle. Meanwhile, co-hosts West Indies survived a scare in the tournament opener against Papua New Guinea, thanks to Roston Chase's 27-ball 42 not out.
