The competition has been expanded from the previous edition which took place in Australia in 2022. The teams have been divided up into groups of five for the first stage, with the top two teams from each advancing to the Super Eights after playing every team in their group once.
Those who go through will be split into two groups of four, with the top teams from two groups put together with the second placed teams from the other two groups. After each team in the groups have played each other once, the top two from each will advance to the semifinals. The final will be played on June 29.
All of the provisional squads for the tournament have now been announced apart from Pakistan’s, who are due to name theirs after the first T20I against England this week.
Along with the playing members of the squad, focus will also be on the coaches as several former international players will be part of the coaching staff at the T20 World Cup.
