Today's T20 World Cup: IND vs SA final – match preview
India v South Africa, Final
Where: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados
When: June 29, 10:30 am local time
Little separates India from South Africa as both sides gear up to end their respective trophy droughts in global events. India have not won a senior men’s global title since the 2013 Champions Trophy, while South Africa’s last triumph came in the same tournament but back in 1998.
Both teams are unbeaten in the 2024 T20 World Cup, though India’s match against Canada was washed out. While I5ndia’s wins have largely been more comprehensive, South Africa utterly decimated Afghanistan in the semi-final, bowling them out for 56 and cantering home inside nine overs. India, too, thrashed defending champions England by 68 runs in the other semi-final.

IND v SA: Who are the key players?
Jasprit Bumrah
Seven matches, 13 wickets at 8.15 apiece, 4.12 an over. The numbers indicate why Bumrah is the most dangerous cricketer in the Indian team.
Heinrich Klaasen
Klaasen is yet to come to his own in this World Cup, but there is little doubt over his credentials against spin. He will be the biggest threat to the three Indian spinners.

Pitch report and ground conditions
The run rate has been only 7.78 (156 in 20 overs) at the Kensington Oval during the World Cup, but even that has been enough to make it the third-fastest venue of the tournament. Expect bigger scores than the semi-finals – but not substantially. Rain may play spoilsport, but there is a reserve day.
