South Africa first team to qualify for Super Eights
Following the washout, both Sri Lanka and Nepal have been awarded one point each. So far, only one match at the 2024 men’s T20 World Cup has been washed out; England vs Scotland on June 4. However, there have been delays due to rain in other matches.
The match is important for both sides, especially for Sri Lanka, to stay in the hunt for the next round. They find themselves in a tricky spot after losing to South Africa and Bangladesh in their first two fixtures.
More important, the washout means that South Africa have become the first team to qualify for the Super Eights.
