Ravindra Jadeja retired from T20Is

Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from T20 internationals a day after India's World Cup triumph in Barbados.

India's first World Cup triumph in 13 years has brought with it a sea of retirements with the three senior-most players of the team that won the trophy in Caribbean, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja, have all stepped down from the format.

The left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder made a social media post today (June 30), announcing his retirement from T20Is.

Jadeja played 74 T20Is for his country after making his debut in the format in 2009 against Sri Lanka. He finishes his T20I career with 515 runs at a strike rate of 127.16, and 54 wickets with a best performance of 3-15.

In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Jadeja took one wicket with an economy rate of 7.57 as part of India's formidable spin attack. He also played a vital part as a lower-order hitter, including an unbeaten 17 off nine against England.
