Update 5:50 pm IST, 1:20 pm BST: Dinesh Karthik, who's covering the T20 World Cup as a broadcaster, updated that there was heavy rain a few hours ahead of the start of the semi-final in Guyana, which has now reduced to a drizzle.

Despite the weather forecast, there has been good news reported on the morning of the match. According to journalist Vimal Kumar, the skies have been clear, and five hours before the start of play, there has been no rain for a day.

India vs England: What's the weather forecast in Guayana?
The forecast in Guyana is bleak, to say the least. June is generally the wettest month in the country, with 23 out of 30 days of the month receiving rainfall on average every year.
For the T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England on June 27, AccuWeatherpredicts a 90 per cent chance of rain. Currently, the chances of rain before the start of the match (at 10:30 am local time), are less than 50 per cent, but increase during the game hours, peaking at 75 per cent at 11 am local time.
BBC Weather predicts "thundery showers and light winds" for June 27. It predicts a 70 per cent chance of rain at noon, the maximum for any point during the day.

According to the playing conditions for the 2024 T20 World Cup, if the second semi-final in Guyana is washed out, the team that qualified through a higher position in the Super Eights, India in this case, will qualify for the final.
