A total of 55 matches will be played between 20 teams, who are divided equally into four groups for the first phase, to be held in the USA and the West Indies. The first round will be hosted by nine cities, making it the largest T20 World Cup in history in this aspect.
The tournament will begin with hosts USA locking horns against Canada in Dallas on June 1, while the final will be played in Barbados on June 29. Co-hosts West Indies will start the campaign a day later against Papua New Guinea.
New Zealand will start their tournament on June 7 in Guyana against Afghanistan. They will also play West Indies, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea in Group C on June 12, 14 and 17, respectively, in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Black Caps have announced a 15-member squad with Kane Williamson as their captain. The squad features plenty of experience in Trent Boult and Tim Southee, who is set to play his seventh T20 World Cup.
