Captain Rohit Paudel has been in excellent form lately, emerging as the highest runs-scorer in Nepal’s home series against West Indies A. With 265 runs at 132.50, while striking 178, Paudel is expected to spearhead Nepal’s batting in the tournament.

The squad features largely the same group from the closely fought five-match T20I series where Nepal went down by 2-3. However, none of Aarif Sheikh, Bibek Yadav and Aakash Chand will play in the global event.

Aasif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Kushal Bhurtel, Kishal Malla, Lalit Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airee, who shot to fame recently by becoming only the third batter to hit six sixes in an over in a T20I against Qatar, are part of the experienced core.

Having represented Nepal in the Under-19 World Cup this year, Gulsan Jha has earned a spot alongside 19-year-old bowling-all-rounder Pratis GC. Left-arm tweaker Lalit Rajbanshi will lead Nepal’s spin attack.

Veteran Sandeep Lamichhane, initially overlooked for serving a jail sentence, has been acquitted of his rape charges. His participation in the tournament is subject to clearance from the ICC, as confirmed by the Cricket Association of Nepal.

Nepal are placed in Group B alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Netherlands. They will begin their campaign on June 4 against the Dutch at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.
